Pictured in Florence Muller's book 'Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture' on page 55, this is a lily of the valley brooch, that was made by Gripoix for Christian Dior during the 1950's. This delicate piece has a sculptural and representational profile with poured glass leaves that glisten and baroque glass pearls that shimmer gently when worn. There is one pearl missing from the cluster and a little bit of its "stem" which is noted upon close inspection. This couture piece exemplifies the femininity and beauty that Dior was known for at the height of its influence during the 1950's.
